Saving Money With Proper Food Management - Part 3 - Controlling Supplies

In two previous articles on food management you have learned how to arrange the food supplies in your pantry and your freezer in the proper way, and how to apply the FIFO principle. In this article I am going to tell you how those two things supplemented with a simple trick will help you manage your food supplies.

Remember the list you made to arrange the food in your pantry in the right way (see "Saving Money with Proper Food Management - Part 1 Getting Started"). Now, we are going to use the same technique to make our shelves and cupboards tell us when they need resupplying. What you will need for each cupboard is a small white-board and a dry erasable marker.

The white-board must be smaller than the door of your cupboard or shelves, and you attach it on the inside. Now, you divide the board into two columns, one titled "Product", and the other "Quantity".

Now you list all the products stored in the cupboard in the first column, and mark the quantity (usually the number of cans, bottles or bag) in the second column, representing each can, bottle, bag, or any other container with a big dot, circle, square, or any other symbol you fancy.

After the last symbol you write a number representing the number of containers you want to keep in store at all times, e.g. "Peeled tomatoes" o o o 3 (meaning you have three cans of peeled tomatoes, and this is what you always want to have).

Each time you take something from the cupboard, you erase one symbol representing it. Each time you make a shopping list, you simply open the cupboard and look at the number of symbols and the number after the symbols to know if you need to resupply or not, e.g. "Peeled tomatoes" o o - 3. It means you have two cans of peeled tomatoes, and you need to store three of them, so you have to buy just one this time.

You do exactly the same with your freezer, but this time you can attach the whiteboard on the outside of the freezer cover.

This way your cupboards, shelves, and freezer always "tell" you what you need to buy. Based on that information you will always prepare an appropriate shopping list, telling you what to buy and how much of it.

You will save time writing down the shopping list, you will save time shopping, and you will save money, because you will never buy something you don't need.

Proper food management combined with and enhanced by menu planning can lead to significant savings in money spent on food without the need to change your eating habits and lowering your culinary standards.

Not planning your meals ahead of time can cost you hundreds of dollars and precious hours not spent with family and friends. At the same time a regular family dinner can result in a more loving relationship with your kids, less trouble at home and even a reduced risk of school dropout and teen pregnancy. Save Time And Money By Planning Your Meals.

When people are getting low on money, they are often looking for an extra income, a way to get more money in their wallet. If you already tried, you probably know that your possibilities are really low.

There are so many techniques on increasing your income online that end up being scams that most people are discouraged and finally end up accepting that they won't get a bigger income than what they have right now.

However, most of us don't realize that they already have an income that is big enough for what they need. The problem is not about getting more, but keeping what they already have. In order to increase the size of our wallet, we need to learn how to save in everyday life.

We don't always realize, but every day of our life, we spend so much money without always noticing it. Paying for gas, electricity, TV, cellphone.... it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. If we only stop for a couple a seconds and think about it, it is way easier to make a couple hundred bucks by cutting those expenses than by trying to get money off one of those marketing schemes going around the web.

The good side of the idea is that we don't need more than what we have now, we don't need to spend money to get richer (although this isn't a plan to get rich tomorrow !!), but only to cut our losses. Instead of spending 200$ to make money online (that you will probably never see), maybe you should try and save 50$ maybe even 100$ a month with a cheaper satellite TV supplier, some electricity saving tips and other things like that.

There is actually a recent blog that is keeping track of those different ways to save money in your everyday life. You should definitely give it a look and maybe by the end of the year, you will have those couple thousand bucks you were looking for. Save Your Money When Buying a New Car

The automobile is certainly a wonder of twentieth century
technology. It has made its place in our American history.
Though not as well known, a whole industry had to be created to
effectively market this fairly expensive luxury to the general
public.

The franchise system was used to lock in big profits for the auto
manufacturers. Your local Ford or Chevrolet dealership is part
of this system. If you want to buy a new Ford or Chevy you have
to buy it from one of these dealerships.

The automobile dealership is basically a franchise granted to a
car dealer by the manufacturer. These dealerships are exclusive
franchises. This gives the car dealer many marketing advantages.
Car dealers will use their proprietary knowledge to inflate the
cost of your car purchase. Certain marketing practices could
potentially cost you hundreds, even thousands of dollars that you
shouldn't pay.

Although the car dealer may be reputable, the industry of car
sales has adopted selling methods, practices and techniques that
cause unsuspecting car buyers to pay more than they should for a
new automobile.

These front-end charges are unnecessary and should be avoided:

Car Buyer Mistake #1 --

If you are charged a large amount of money for "set-up and prep
charges", then beware. The truth of the matter is that the car
was inspected before it left the manufacturer. The car was
insured in transport to the dealer and if there was any damage
during transport, that would have been paid by the trucking
company. The total preparation to sell you the car really
amounts to a quick car wash. Prep charges can run up to $800.
You should pay nothing for any prep charges.

Trade-in Trickery --

Dealers hate to take trade-ins. They either have to sell them on
their own lot or dump them at a car auction. It generally costs
a dealer $600 to handle your trade-in. The dealer will pass this
cost along to you. And even though the salesman says he can get
you "top dollar" on your trade-in, you are really only getting
the amount the dealer knows that he can sell the car for at an
auction.

There are also other questionable charges that occur at the
back-end of a car sale. You can avoid losing hundreds of dollars
by being aware of these dealer tactics to make more money.

Dealer Periodic Maintenance:

Don't fall for this one. The dealer will charge you $40 per hour
or more for every scheduled visit back to the dealer. You can
get the same quality of service at Jiffy Lube for $20. The
dealer is simply trying to assure more business for his
dealership by selling you this option after you purchase your new
car. If your car ever needs to be fixed, you may want to have
the work done somewhere else anyway.

Vehicle Undercoating:

Even though the dealer might insist that you need this option,
the truth is that the body of the car will begin to rust before
the undercarriage will. Unless you plan to keep the car past 5
years, and you live near a coastal area, you can skip the
undercoating and save $200 or more. All cars have a protective
coating on the underside of the vehicle included standard
anyway.

Credit Life and Disability Insurance:

You will be offered this insurance if you finance your car
through the dealer. It seems like a good deal. It pays off the
car if you become disabled or die. And you can just add it to
the monthly payments, right? Yes, but don't buy this either.
The total cost of this insurance will run you $1000 over the life
of the loan. Save your money.

And always get your car loan from the bank, not the dealer. This
will give you confidence when you walk into a dealership knowing
that you are already pre-approved for the car of your choice.
Don't buy a car just because of a rebate or low interest
incentive either. These don't really save you all that much and
you can pay less for the car you really want by knowing the
following information about car dealerships:

The dealer's markup on a new car is between 18%-20%. This little
bit of information will allow you to save money because you will
know what the dealer actually paid for the car. You can
negotiate a better price when armed with this information.

If you do buy a brand new car, expect the car to depreciate
immediately by 20% when you drive it off the dealer's lot. This
is because it is now a used car.

In the next year, your car will depreciate by another 10%. The
second year it will have depreciated another 20%. So if you buy
a 2 year old car in good shape and have it checked out by a
certified mechanic before you buy it, you can save up to 50%.

These are tips that could save you or someone in your family a
lot of money on your next car. Be a wise consumer. Always ask
questions and know your options. It's the best way to keep more
of your money.

Do Your Own Maintenance And Save Money - 5 Tips

The do-it-yourself industry is booming. Today, it seems like people are always looking for ways to save money. And, what could be better than doing all of those "have to" activities around house and home yourself, rather than paying somebody else to do them?

Do-it-yourself projects usually involve building or putting something together, often from a kit or out of a box. However, DIY maintenance projects do not always come with instructions. And, it can be difficult to decide just which types of things you can actually do yourself as a way to save money. Still, it can be more than worthwhile to pursue those types of projects since it means saving your cash for buying the things you cannot do yourself - or for giving yourself a treat now and then.

You can do your own maintenance and save money with these 5 tips:

1. Change your own oil:

Changing the oil in your car has been a popular do-it-yourself maintenance idea for decades. Now that cars have become more complex under the hood than ever, you might assume that changing the oil of a modern automobile would require an advanced technical degree. Not so.

In fact, all you need in order to change your automobile oil is the knowledge of where the drain plug is located underneath your car (see your owner's manual) and where you can find your car's oil fill cap. Be sure to buy a receptacle for collecting the used oil so that you can dispose of it properly. This little maintenance technique could save you $50 or more every few months.

2. Replenish your car's fluids and change your brake pads:

For the auto owner who is handy with a wrench (but who does not necessarily have any special automobile knowledge), checking and replenishing your car's fluids like coolant, brake fluids and windshield wiper fluids is another great way to save money. And, you can even inspect and change your car's brake pads on your own.

Be sure to buy an aftermarket maintenance manual that pertains to your car's make, model and year. And, don't skimp on the parts: buy yourself a good set of brake pads. Safety first! By skipping some of the factory-recommended scheduled maintenance items by doing them yourself could save you $100s per year.

3. Do your own landscaping:

When it comes to taking care of your yard, you can stand to save a lot of money by not paying a landscaper to do the work. Many people avoid this type of maintenance because they think they'll need to invest in a lot of expensive equipment.

Try buying a good, used lawnmower and some garden tools. After all, spending $200 or so now could pay off in 2-3 months of saved landscaping costs, after which time it's all gravy. Bonus: landscaping burns calories and is a great way to get out of the house and into the open air of nature.

4. Maintain your own air conditioning system:

Your air conditioning unit is divided into two parts: an evaporator (inside) and a condenser (outside). Doing things like cleaning the underside of the evaporator unit, pouring a tablespoon of bleach down the weep hole in the clean tray, and cleaning the condenser with commercial coil cleaner are easy to learn. Consult any number of online resources for a complete how-to guide. An hour or so of maintenance like this could save you hundreds of dollars in future repairs.

5. Maintain your garage door:

If your garage door is like most, it gets a lot of use every day of the year. In many homes, the garage door is opened multiple times per day, which easily amounts to over 1,000 openings and 1,000 closings per year. This can put a lot of stress on your garage door - and on the opener (if you have one).

How to Fight Money Procrastination

A law of physics states, "A body in motion tends to stay in motion; a body at rest tends to stay at rest." When it comes to money, procrastination-doing nothing-can hurt you. You may feel indecisive, not knowing how to start saving. But choosing to do nothing is still a choice with consequences. This choice can cause you to lose out on opportunities that could change the course of your life.

The following suggestions can help you overcome procrastination in your savings program.

Identify your favorite excuses

We all have our favorite excuses for why we can't or won't do the things that we should. For example, we all know we should "eat less and exercise more." It's a simple concept. Why is it so easy to find good excuses not to do it? We tell ourselves, "I'm too stressed out," "I'm too tired," "I'm too busy," "I'm too upset." We claim, "I don't have enough confidence or energy," "That's just the way I am," or "I can't do this on my own."

Here's the deal: You can pick any excuse. Each excuse works as well as any other. No matter what your reason is, you are using it to stop you from doing what you know you should be doing. You are allowing excuses to paralyze you.

Your excuses may be true and worthy, but it doesn't really matter. The fact is, if you want to increase your savings and improve your life, you need to figure out how to overcome these destructive self-messages.

Think of your "Top Three" favorite excuses for not saving. Write them down and take a look at them. To help you overcome the paralysis that excuses create, here are some ways to get started.

Use automatic savings

Automatic savings is an automatic deduction from your payroll check or your bank account to go into a savings account. You can set aside money weekly or monthly. Once established, the program will work in your favor. Studies show that workers who are on an automatic savings plan are more likely to stick with that plan.

Automatic savings takes only a few simple steps to set up. They work because you never see the money. Some plans can be put into an investment automatically to start earning a return. Study the 401(k) plans and savings plans offered at your place of employment.

Use automatic deposit

You can have your paycheck automatically deposited. This way you can't misplace your paycheck, and your money is available to you faster than if you deposited it in the bank yourself. If you track your bank accounts online, you can see exactly what checks have been deducted and what haven't yet been cleared from your account. Don't forget to check your statement each month for any bank errors.

Use automatic bill paying

Another technique is to pay bills automatically. This is when your bill payments are deducted from your bank account or payroll check and sent directly to the vendor to pay your bills. This prevents you from misplacing your bills, forgetting to pay them, or paying them late. If you've ever paid a bill late, you know about late fees and penalties. With automatic bill paying, your bills are paid on time, every time.

To make automatic bill paying work, be sure you have enough money in your bank account on the day that each bill payment transfer is put through. Otherwise, you will have overdraft charges or checks bouncing. You can protect yourself from overdraft fees by acquiring a line of credit linked to your savings account. Nevertheless, there is no reason to overdraw your account. If you are concerned about exceeding your balance limit, put as much "padding" as you can into your account. But don't spend the padding!

Avoid overdraft fees and late fees

When you have several payments pending, many banks have adopted the procedure of processing the largest check you wrote before they process the smaller checks you wrote. Banks make lots of money charging overdraft fees. They are more likely to collect those fees and more of them if they deduct the larger check before the smaller amount.

Banks and financial institutions stay in business by making money. To do this, they use your money. To achieve that goal, they need to do several things. They need to acquire as much of your money as possible, keep your money as long as possible, charge you the highest interest rate possible, and pay you the lowest interest rate possible.

On the other hand, the banker at your local bank branch can be very helpful. Go in and create an alliance with him or her. Ask for suggestions about how you can do a better job budgeting, saving and eliminating fees.

Tips on How to Save Up Money

Do you wish to save up money? Did you know that when you know how to handle your cash well, you would be able to keep some for the future? In this article, you will learn about some of the wisest tips in order to save up.

The first thing you need to do is determine what you need and what you want. Shelter, food, clothing are definitely your needs. A car can also be a need, unless you'd only take a 40-thousand dollar SUV. Clearly, that is a want.

It is very crucial for you to distinguish the necessary from the not-so. Do not delude yourself that a want is a need because it isn't. When you can classify things appropriately, then you'll know where to spend your money on.

The next tip is for you to establish a budget. By doing so, you will have a clear view of your income and expenditures. Once these things have already been defined, you will be able to tell better where you can save. Twenty dollars may not seem much in a week, but that's already $1040 in a year. Not bad, right?

Third pointer is to try first before you buy. How many times have you made thoughtless purchases? Before handing over your cash or credit card to the cashier, why not give yourself some time to try the product or item first? This is especially true for things which come with high price tags. Why not borrow or rent first? After sometime, you may be surprised at how boring the thing could actually be. That's a good amount of saving going back to your pocket.

Fourth suggestion is to buy in bulk. Plan your meals ahead and then go to the grocery to buy everything you would need. This way, you won't have to make multiple trips to the store every time you are cooking. Besides, many items in the grocery come in lower prices when they are bought in bulk.

Fifth tip is to buy second-hand. Of course, everyone likes to buy new, but you can keep a lot of cash if you start buying used items. For example, a car usually loses 1/3 of its value in its first two years. Why not buy a car which is that old?

Sixth, when there's sale, make sure that it's a real sale. Do some price research because often times, a sale is just a marketing strategy; a technique to encourage people to buy without thinking much.

Seventh tip is to shop wisely. Go to local shops, farmer's markets, superstores, and marts. It's worth to check shopping places so you can identify where you can save more. For instance, a farmer's market can be good because you are directly buying from the producer and the produces are cheaper.

Finally, improve your credit score. You see, when your credit score is good, you can enjoy lower interest rates on everything such as car loan, home loan, or even study loan. That's absolutely a great way to save up money!

How to Save More Money Starting Today

The key to learning how to save more money lies in looking at your every day normal spending habits and slowly making changes to start cutting back on expenses where you can. Anyone can do this with ease yet most people never do out of laziness or the simple desire to not change at all. One thing to keep in mind; as with any change in habits, if you implement them you will be able to carry them with you for the rest of your life.

The first thing you can do to start going in a more frugal direction is to look at not only what you spend on your daily routine, but how you can adjust it, save money at the same time, and be content with the actual change.

There are many people who cannot live without their daily cup of Starbuck's coffee so they end up paying 3 to 4 dollars a day and sometimes more if they get a bagel or pastry to go along with it.

An easy thing to try in the morning would be to make your own cup of coffee and/or bagel at home and you can treat yourself once a week to your regular restaurant visit on the way to work. This alone will save you almost a thousand dollars a year!

Another easy way to save is to pay cash for everything and if you can't, do your best to not buy it, or the interest rate alone will eat up all the money you save on coffee and bagels! Now, there will be time when you may have no choice but to plunk down your credit card out of necessity but make it a last resort.

Use free groceries coupons by cutting them out of the Sunday paper and actually using them. For this, you'll need a little file box to keep them organized for easy u;sage at the supermarket. This is a great habit to fall into. By using just the above-mentioned techniques on how to save money, you can already save up to 5,000.00 within a year after starting it!

How to Save Money While Living Well

In this article today I would like to discuss several tips, tricks, and techniques that will allow just about anybody to save a ton of money and at the same time live incredibly well.

Times are tough for just about everybody. Who would've thought that the recession that started towards the end of 2008 would still be going so strong well into 2010? Times like these make it more important than ever to spend as little money as possible... fortunately you can do that while still living very well and that's what I like to talk about in this article today by giving you several tips that you can use to do this fairly easily.

The first rule when it comes to spending less money while living well is to avoid taking on debt if at all possible. It's much easier to live well on less money if most of your paycheck doesn't go to pay off old credit cards and other debts each month. For convenience, you may use a credit card to purchase groceries and gas for your car and other essentials, as long as you pay off the balance in full each month. Otherwise stay away from credit cards as well.

Next you should find ways to save money on entertainment. This can be as simple as a change in mindset from spending a ton of money going out to dinner and seeing a movie to renting movies and staying at home. One fun way to save money is to invite a group of friends over for a potluck dinner where everybody brings a food dish. This can be much less expensive than going out to dinner and just as much fun or even a little more fun!

Another tip is to purchase groceries every two weeks instead of every week. If you only shop every two weeks, you will cut down on the amount of impulse buys you purchase. To do that you have to buy in bulk which will further reduce your costs because bulk is always cheaper. You may have to pop in every week or so to pick up a few perishables but other than that stay out of the grocery store.

Finally another great tip for spending less money while living well is to build a gift list for all the people you purchase gifts for throughout the year and then buying all of the presents on sale as they come up on sale throughout the year. This will allow you to save a ton of money on gifts and also make sure that you always have a present when needed and never forget anyone's birthday or special occasion.

So there you have several very simple tips that will allow just about anybody to save a ton of money but at the same time live well, in some cases very well which is one of the most important things. You don't have to spend a ton of money to live the good life anymore and hopefully these tips will get you started down the right path.

How to Have More Money in Your Pocket to Use This Week

Learning how to put more cash back in your pocket to use this week is a smart strategy anyone can learn. By coupling a few of the weekly techniques below with some monthly savings, you will not only get over a temporary money pinch, but position yourself to save big money going forward. By the time you've read to the end of this article, you will have learned tips enough to put at least an extra $50 to $150 back into your pocket this very week.

Everyone's situation is different, but get a pen and write down a list of your usual weekly expenses. As an example, let's say that during a normal week you spend $250 on groceries, $50 on gas for the car, $3 a day on lunch, and $40 a week on sundries like video hire, magazines, coffee with friends, clothes or shoes. Let's see how much of these things we can save on.

Tip 1. Take Inventory of The Pantry, Fridge and Freezer. Time Cost: 30 mins. Saving: $100?

Get a pen and list all the food items you already have in each of these places. Take note of any fruit and vegetables that might be wasted if it is not used up right away. On a table in front of you, group things together that might form a complete meal, like some left over boiled greens, if put with that ground beef, and if that bit of carrot was diced and mixed with the half jar of curry over some of that rice, there's one meal.

That pumpkin you were going to have with the baked dinner last week and forgot about, steam that and blend it with some soup mix to make a tasty broth to serve with some buttered bread or buns. That's a second meal. Warm up those cold potatoes, mash them with a bit of butter an egg and those few bits of vegetable and grated cheese and fry them as patties with a bit of sauce. You see the idea - get creative, then write down these meal plans and use them.

Tip 2. 'Shop' With Food, Not Cash. Time cost: 5 mins. Saving: $10?

Now that you have made up many of the week's meals, there are probably just a few necessaries like milk and coffee that you still have to go and shop for, right? Wrong! You may have found during the above exercise that you have duplicates of things you stocked up on when they were on special, or just won't use.

Check with your neighbour, friend, aunt or whoever if they can spare you some milk and coffee in return for a packet of dates, two cans of beans and that frontloader washing powder you bought by mistake. Now you've saved the cash for these few things, and you've possibly also saved a trip to the shop.

Tip 3. Check The Itinerary. Time cost: variable. Saving: $10?

Make a note of the essential travelling you will need to buy petrol for, and only put that much in the tank. If you filled the tank right up instead you may be tempted to make more trips. Plan to get a lift with a friend, use public transport, do more things on one trip instead of making two trips, ask someone who you know is driving in to town to pick up something for you, walk or ride your bike. If you have already fuelled up, ask a work colleague if you can give him a lift this week for a share of petrol costs, and get some of that money back.

Tip 4. Make Lunch Once A Week. Time cost: 40 mins. Saving: $15.

You're so rushed getting to work in the mornings that it seems easier to buy lunch than find time to make it, right? And at night you are too tired to bother, right? Okay, set aside 40 mins on the weekend to make the week's sandwiches and freeze them into separate bags - lots of types of fillings can be frozen, just check the internet.

Here's another 'free' and easy lunch idea: Most workplaces have a microwave where you can warm up food, so get into the habit of making an extra serving at dinnertime, place into a takeaway container and put into the freezer for taking to work. And it's cheap and easy to put a single serve soup mix packet into your workbag, too!

Tip 5. Movie Hire Next-door? Time cost: zero. Saving $5+

Like to hire movies? So does your neighbour, workmate or brother. Swap your own movies with those of someone else for the week so that you both get to watch something new without the hire charge. If you've already paid out to hire, offer your movies to the neighbour for a week for half the usual hire cost to get some cash back.

Tip 6. Thrift Shop At Home. Time cost: 60 mins. Saving $10+

Like you, your friends like to declutter their house, and like you, they spend money buying clothes and shoes on sale or at thrift shops, and like you, they probably don't have enough stuff or time to organise a garage sale. Hold a Non-Garage-Sale, where a small group of just friends get together and bring bags of items they would normally give away to charity.

There's those perfectly good aerobic shoes Sally bought just before she decided to take up swimming instead, and that brand new pair of jeans Brian's grandma sent that were a size too small. Swap around, without cash, and find the items you would have spent money on.
Tip 7, 8, 9 etc. Other Ways To Save. Time cost: zero Saving $10+

Suggest 'Coffee In The Park', instead of coffee in the mall, and take your own. Or still have a coffee with friends in the cafe but ask the proprietor if you can bring your own 'gluten free' cake. (He will think it's for the sake of your diet, but it's for the sake of your purse!) Be mindful of your weaknesses. If you and your friend both regularly buy a car magazine, or fashion magazine, offer to buy this week's issue and pass it on when read, and let your friend will buy next week's issue, read it, then pass it on to you.

Deliberately leave your wallet at home, or just pocket enough money for the errand, and no more. If you normally smoke a whole pack during the work day, deliberately ration yourself by taking out a few cigarettes and leaving them at home so that you eventually have a 6 packet week instead of a 7 packet week, saving $10. Work out what activities are associated with your drinking, and do a different activity instead.

Saving Money

Saving money can be very difficult. Many people just manage to get by on their current family incomes. Once all of the bills have been paid there can be very little money left over at the end of the month.

For those people who live pay cheque to pay cheque, the idea of saving money might seem beyond their capabilities. However, it is even more important for people on low to moderate incomes to think about saving money.

The question people might ask themselves is "How can I save money on a tight budget?" It is not easy but it is possible. There are certain techniques that can help with the task. The following are a few ideas that can help you save money:

1. Kick the Starbucks habit. A cup of coffee should never cost that much money. There are plenty of other coffee shops that make excellent coffee at half the price. The west coast Starbucks allure is not worth the 3-4 dollars you are going to drop on a cup of coffee.

2. Brown bag it. Bring your own lunch to work. If you cannot seem to find the discipline to make your own lunch at least try to semi-brown bag it. Buy a case of juice boxes when you see them on sale and stick them under your desk. Instead of paying $1.50 for a mid-day drink, grab a juice box and pocket over $1 in savings.

3. Try to leave your credit cards and money at home. Having a little extra money in your pocket means you will spend that little extra money. A cup of coffee, a chocolate bar, and a newspaper can burn through $10 pretty fast. Over the course of a week it can amount to $70 and over the course of a year you can whittle through thousands of dollars and have nothing to show for it.

4. Quit smoking. Smoking is the single largest waste of money among lower income houses. It is hard to quit and for some people it might be almost impossible to quit. However, everyone can cut back on their smoking habit. For every single cigarette not smoked you save money.

Any program requires discipline and that applies to physical fitness as well as financial fitness. Do not over do it. If you put too many constraints on your spending you might come to resent it. Try to think of a single aspect of your spending that you can do without. Saving money can be difficult but it is critically important that it be done.

Four Simple Steps to Saving Money While Starting Your Online Business

If you have ever started a business, you know what making the most of your startup money means to your business. So saving money instead of spending it can be the difference maker between success for failure.

There are five basic steps that any entrepreneur can do irregardless to type of business to make the most of their money.

1. Get a plan. There is a reason that banks require borrowers they don't have any experience with to have a business plan. The banks know that your chances of success go way up with a good business plan.

a. A good plan starts with a goal.

b. Then you need a path to get to your goal.

c. Remember to include smaller more attainable goals in your plan to assure early success and to build your confidence.

d. A good business plan will give you direction and keep you focused on your goal. This will save you in the long run. If you stick to it.

2. Stay focused. This is one of the hardest things to do in this age of cyberspace.

a. Some internet marketers have perfected a sales technique that seems to continually bombard you with one offer after another. And this is almost before you have paid for the initial purchase. You already have 4 more product offers and two membership offers plus bonus giveaways that entice you into giving your email address to someone else that will just keep bombarding you.

b. And each offer seems to entice you all the more. And each time you buy from someone new, the emails multiply accordingly. Soon all you have time for is to check your emails. As the offers come in, the next great idea always seems to be right in front of you.

c. I have nothing against those internet marketers, just a basic disagreement of methods. Don't spend your money on things you don't need. I know many of the products seem like a good deal and well worth the money. But it's like buying a pickup truck that you only use as a truck once a year.

In the end you end up with a vehicle you cannot use for its chosen purpose and 15 mpg. You would have been better off renting a truck for that one time you need it per year. You make them rich and you poor.

d. This is why you start with a good plan, but a good plan is only good if you follow it.

e. Follow your plan. Find success with your original business choice before branching out to other avenues. Save your time, save your money.

3. Buy only what you need. This seems easy enough, doesn't it? But when you are constantly being bombarded by internet marketers, it is easy to get sidetracked. There always seems to be a great idea right around the corner.

a. A good way to help yourself stay on track is to get a friend who will tell you like it is to give approval before spending any of your hard earned money.

b. Make sure you get someone that you trust without an agenda of their own. In most cases a parent makes a good choice because they will be more than willing to tell you something you don't want to hear.

4. Stick to those people that treat you right, people you trust.

a. When you are starting out it is not in your best interest to be bombarded by offers. Find marketers that accept no for an answer when you turn down an offer and will at least give you a few days before trying again. This gives you time to think, do I really need this or do I just want it?

b. I recommend sticking to those internet marketers that are selling what you need that do not bombard you with offer after offer without giving you that time to think.

c. Buy what you need but only when you need it. Save your time and money by following your plan. d. Find people you can trust, join forums that will keep you focused and help you to succeed. Yes, there are places like this on the net. Really!!

Following these four steps will not make you any money, but it will surely save you a bunch of money. In this economy, every penny you save can make a difference. Don't let the "grass is always greener syndrome" get the best of you. There is no easy way to start a business unless you can afford for someone to do it for you.

Best Way to Save Money on Groceries - One Woman's Secret

Let's face it, with the way things are today with gas and grocery prices going up (and just about everything else) most of us are doing what we can to save money on groceries. I know you've heard it all; coupons, shop the sales, using rebates...but I have a simple technique that I have found is the best way to save money on groceries for my family. So no matter how much money you make, or how much you spend, anyone can save money!

First of all, all those tried and true grocery saving ideas really can work. But honestly, I don't have the time. I do cut out the occasional coupon, and wish I had the time to work all the couponing angles, but I don't. My secret to saving money happened accidentally as I was trying to become more organized to be able to run my online business from home more efficiently.

I make a weekly menu. That's it, that's the secret. I know, like I said, seems more like organization. But the fact is, when you make a menu each week, then develop your grocery list from that menu, you can save up to 30% on your grocery bill every week.

If your grocery bill averages $100 a week, that's $33 bucks, folks. That adds up to more than $1700 dollars a year. That's a lot of money to be throwing away. And the savings are higher if your grocery bill tends to be higher than $100 a week, like mine.

The reason this works is that it eliminates impulse and unnecessary buying. The menu and list keeps you on track so you know everything you need. How many times have you bought a couple heads of lettuce and some tomatoes, thinking it would be great to have a salad "sometime this week" only to find them later in the frig, $9 worth of trash? We've all done it, sometimes so many times its embarrassing to admit!

Better still; use the weekly sales flyers to create your menu from discounted items. For instance, if round steak in on sale this week, make sure a couple of meals on your menu use round steak. Apples on special? Buy a bag and make apple pie for this weeks dessert. Getting it?

It really does work to save you money on groceries, and the side benefit is that you avoid those last minute (and unhealthy) trips through the drive thru. Every morning you know what's for dinner, so you can thaw your meat, or start your slow cooker without the guilt and expense unplanned meals can cause.

So try it. Get out a paper and make a menu for this week. (Or you can visit Women on the Net for free menu printables.) Create a shopping list from your menu. Feel free to interchange a meal here and there if you come across a good sale, but be sure to change it on your menu list.

Now compare your grocery bill to the last few you've had. Pretty cool, eh? From a mom who has raised 5 kids and three stepkids, this is my secret for the best way to save money on groceries, and keep you on track at the same time!

How To Deal With Rising Costs by Using Smart Shopping Techniques

Nothing kills a budget like overpaying for an item yet many
consumers still continue to shop the wrong way. They allow
rising costs to eat up more of their weekly paycheck without
finding new ways to save money.

They get into deep financial
trouble and don't curb their spending which makes it more
difficult to afford their basic necessities.

Mortgages are the biggest monthly expense we have but as loan
rates rise, those consumers who stuck with low fixed-rate
loans are enjoying the stability of a predictable monthly loan
payment while those who thought they could use an adjustable
rate to trade up to a more expensive home are now scrambling
to pay mortgages that have nearly wiped them out.

They
wanted to save right away and didn't plan for the future.

Food is the second biggest monthly expense most consumers have
and there are many ways to save money without giving up the
foods you love.

By targeting loss leaders, making full use of store
discount cards coupled with strategic coupons, you can build
up your own in-house mini grocery store while cutting up to 75%
off your food bill.

But it's not just the large purchases that need to be examined.
Everything from cutting utility bills to saving money on gas can
be lowered by shopping wisely.

For every degree you cut
your fuel consumption at home, you shave 2%-3% off your
monthly bill while using the internet to find the cheapest gas
stations in your area can cut your fuel bills by another 10%.

When it comes to saving money, it's the cumulative effect of
shopping smart and taking advantage of store discounts that
increases savings.

A few dollars here and there can skyrocket
your savings after just a few months. But in order to achieve
this, consumers need to avoid impulsive buying habits and focus
on items they came to buy. Stores on the other hand, do their
best to put a wrench in this plan.

They try to add a bit of
pizzazz to a boring shopping trip by using technology to avert
our attention from the task at hand with things such as big
screen TV's, IPods, and computers. Consumers need to avoid
shopping with emotion but with a list and a desire to get the
best deal for their family.

Smart shopping is not just restricted to what we buy but how
we buy. Certain psychological factors influence the way we
shop.

The "Shoppers High" comes from finding big discounts,
catching that unexpected sale, or even grabbing an item before
it's gone from the store shelves.

Consumers need to avoid
shopping with emotion but with a list and a desire to get the
best deal for their family.

In order to avoid rising costs, consumers need to be aware of
prices from a variety of stores so they can find the best deal.
This can be done by setting up a price book.

A price book is
the smartest way to shop and makes it easy to arrange your
shopping trips. Saving time can save you stress and help you
focus on shopping smart.

As long as you are prepared and have
the information to save money, you can fight rising costs.

But most of the times, reality is not as simple as following the above equation. Many people find themselves buried into financial quagmires as they cannot keep their spending lower that what they actually earn as income.

You can put your loose coins in a piggy bank or a sealed glass container where you can only drop the coins and not get it until it's filled.

The Critical Importance of Money Budgeting - Or Pay the Price

The key to a happy, successful life is money management.

Making a large amount of money means nothing if those funds are not properly managed. One must learn to live within their means. This means not spending more than you make, and making sure that expenses are less than income. But who has time to keep up with this stuff?

A budget is a quick way to ensure that you are managing your money. What you need to do is first make out a list of all of your expenses, and divide them into the ones you need to live and the ones you can live without.

Next, list all kinds of income you have. Include payments from work, income from interest on investments, and anything else that brings you income on a regular basis.

This list will help you distinguish between your needs and wants. Every time you get income, you need to pay off your bills in order of importance; otherwise you might end up coming up short on the important things at the end of the month.

The main principle people need to grasp to live financially happy is to never sacrifice your needs for your wants. Would you sacrifice your house to rent movies every week? No, because you actually need shelter.

But when you spend your money on movies or other wants before paying your monthly payment on your house or other necessities you are taking money from these necessities. Again, never sacrifice your needs for your wants.

Once you have made a budget, you need to stick to it. Upon receiving income, go straight to your budget and divide the money up to where it needs to be first.

You should always put money in an emergency fund, which you will use when unforeseen events take place and demand the use of large amounts of money. These include mechanical problems with a car, major repairs on the house, or medical emergencies.

Then, with the leftovers, you can purchase anything you designated as wants.

This simple money management technique can make the difference in your money lasting you barely long enough and you having money to spare.

If every American would use a budget and put money in savings on a regular basis, there would be no debt crisis. Learning to maintain your funds helps you greatly in the long run.

5 Surefire Tips For Saving Money in College

All of us have been enrolled in a university at one point in our life. Some of us are even currently studying and have a desire to learn some tips for saving money in college.

However, it is possible for everyone to live debt free by just following some simple surefire ways and changing the way he/she lives the life. We can even use these techniques at a later stage when we go out and start working.

Tip #1: Restrict your budget.

Firstly, the most effective tip for saving money in college is to restrict your budget. You should have an estimate of how much you can spend per month and stick to this target as much as you can.

All the surplus cash should be put away somewhere else like in a saving bank or another investment, which can then be benefited from at a later stage. In this manner, you will have something as soon as you are done with your studies.

Tip #2: Avoid unnecessary purchases.

The next tip is to avoid as much as you can all the unnecessary purchases. As a matter of fact, some people attempt quite often to buy something that is totally useless and can be avoided. Indeed, they are just interested to get it because it became the latest fashion.

The best personal financial advice that I got one day is to learn how to say no. In this context, you should only buy things that are absolutely needed at any cost.

Tip #3: What about looking for a student job?

Furthermore, you can even enroll yourself in a part time job. Many students today work while they study. In fact, this is a very useful tip for saving money in college. A significant number of people even gain valuable experience by having part time jobs in parallel to their studies.

You might even find yourself interested in the work you have to do and it may be the case that you decide to continue it on full time bases once you graduate. It is not uncommon for people to switch majors because of the job experience that they gain while being students.

Tip #4: Consult others and learn from them.

Ultimately, you can even get some more money saving ideas from others who have managed to save a ton of cash and ensure that you adopt as many of them as possible. There are going to be people around you who can help you to achieve your goal in case you find it challenging to do it on your own.

Make use of them and try to ensure that you collect some sort of experiences while being a student. In addition, save cash to have a start-up capital when you are done with your studies.

Tip #5: Check household finance companies.

Finally, if you are interested in living debt free in America or somewhere else, it is worthwhile to check other advises from a household finance company to double check that you will never waste your cash on something that is not necessarily needed.

How To Make Money Fast In 3 Easy Steps

You are in for a treat. Here you will not find mediocre details on how to make money fast by using baby steps about doing "this and that". Rather do not even let the title fool you because this 'night marketer' does not play with the chicken feed.

We will strike like the eagle with tried and true (I did say easy, right?) ways on how to make money fast. There will be 3 powerful but easy steps you can follow. Remember you should already know some basic Internet marketing exposure so the real 'meat' can be digested nicely.

One, Two, Go.

Step 1: What The Heck Are You Doing?

Sorry to bring this out to you. It can be very stinging indeed (if you are a newbie). You might have tried out lots of other program and affiliate marketing stuff and failed miserably. Or in another sense you might even want to know more about how to make money fast the 'turbo' way.

Whatever your choice, it is a wise one. Everyone starts by wanting to make money fast. The truth is you need to know where are you at financially right at this moment. Check your bank account and see how many businesses you are involved in.

Before you say, "why the heck to do I need to do this... I thought we were going to discover how to make money fast..". Yes, we will just stay with me.

When you have got your bank account and businesses lined up on an A4 paper sheet put it in front of your wall.

Step 2: Make A Living, Take Away The Others

Exactly that. Most people teach you to go to a website, sign up and do this and that. Not here you will not find out how to make money fast that way. Look at the A4 paper you just pinned up.

Really ensure you have at least $3000 as emergency money put aside. If it isn't $3000 then make it $1000 instead. It's not hard. Aside from this your immediate expenses should already taken care of as well. You're not in debt, right?

If you got 3 businesses you're dead wrong if you think this is how to make money fast. Delusions are very poisonous because 'multiple income streams' work only when you have a very, very successful business before your 2 others come along.

Strike off all the other businesses and keep 1 main profit pulling income stream. Business I mean.

Step 3: How To Make Money Fast Starting Now

We got the basics covered. Since you are now 'qualified' lets switch to turbo mode. Pay close attention because I will not slow down and it should do you good to take notes. Really do a verbatim on this.

a) Check out the hottest trends now - go to eBay to find out what is the latest trend by looking at the top 10 items.

b) Be the shovel seller not the gold digger - check out Amazon because you want credibility to sell.

c) Post your advertisements at free online classified sites to get visibility. Track and improve your conversions. That is part of your strategy on how to make money fast the 'turbo way'. Become better day by day.

There is so much more to share about how to make money fast online. Here is my last tip. In item (b), you don't sell Ipod. You sell the Ipod casings and it's other accessories. Keep this in mind on all your other items.

3 Ways to Earn Money Fast Online - How Fast Is Up to You With These 3 Totally Different Methods

When I started to look into ways to earn money fast I looked online. I found out the hard way that there is no way to make a lot of money online fast. Through my research I found these 3 ways to earn money fast but only one could pay the bills.

Over time the other two have brought in enough for me to call them profitable but they have their trade-offs.

So if you are looking for ways to earn money fast from the internet I give you these three options. They all will bring in money and two of them you can do completely free while the third is faster but has more risk.

I chose these three ways to earn money fast because I know they work, they are proven and I have a lot of information on them.

Way #1: Survey - This method of making money online is the best trade off between time and money. It costs nothing to start, nothing to do, and you will get money from it.

only trade offs is you have to find reputable survey sites. It may not be one of the ways to earn money fast that everyone thinks of but I have been able to pull money out of my account monthly with the sites I use.

Way #2: Ad Clicking - This method is the fastest of the ways to earn money fast but it is the lowest amount of money. In less than 60 seconds you can be on a site, setup an account and begin viewing ads. The biggest drawback is most ads don't pay much more than a 1 cent each.

That's not a lot of money. The only thing you have to do to earn this money is to look at ads displayed to you. That is all and is a great way to kill time or just to have running on the side while you are working.

Way #3: PPC Marketing - PPC marketing is Pay Per Click marketing and is considered the best of the ways to earn money fast. The downside is there is a lot of research that goes into this method.

You also have to have a budget to get started and have some money to invest. Once you get through these two steps you can make a large amount of money online very quickly.

With all the ways to make money online these three are the three I have the most knowledge about. I have looked at several different ways to make money consistently and these are the 3 ways to earn money fast that I have found.
